QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ONORTHOGRAPHYAn orthography is a standardized system for using a particular writing system (script) to jot down a specific language. It includes rules of spelling; different parts of written communication that will even be thought of to be a part of writing system include hyphenation, capitalization, word breaks, emphasis, and punctuation.
Most significant languages within the epoch ar written down, and for many such languages a typical orthography has developed, typically supported a typical variety of the language, and therefore exhibiting less accent variation than the spoken communication. sometimes there is also variation in an exceedingly language's writing system, as between yankee and British writing system within the case of English.
If a language uses multiple writing systems, it's going to have distinct orthographies, as is that the case with Kurdish, Uyghur, Serbian, Inuktitut and Turkish. In some cases orthography is regulated by bodies like language academies, though for several languages (including English) there are not any such authorities, and orthography develops through less formal processes.
